Kennametal India Limited was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 on September 21, 1964 under the name Widia (India) Limited. The name was changed to Kennametal Widia India Limited with effect from September 10, 2003 and subsequently into Kennametal India Limited with effect from December 23, 2005 (hereinafter “the Company”). The manufacturing facility and the Registered Office of the Company are situated at 8/9th Mile, Tumkur Road, Bangalore. The reportable segments of the Company in terms of Accounting Standard 17 reported are (a) Machine Tools (b) Hard Metal and Hard Metal Products.
